Marco Bardi, during the process of designing and testing of the Alluminum speargun, has come out with the idea of developing a new shaft with highly technical features. We have then taken this opportunity with him of designing a new shaft, starting from scratch. The features that characterize this shaft and that make it different and better from all the other existing shafts, are the following.

DIAMETER
Many times, the choice between a 6.0mm and a 6.5mm is a limit. One might be too heavy and the other one too light. There has never been an alternative to these two diameters. Hunters today understand how important it is to have a gun with a perfect balance for precise shooting. We have found that a 6.3mm diameter shaft would have been the perfect solution for all those who need a light shaft but find the 6.0mm to be too weak and the 6.5mm to be too heavy.

THE BARB
The barb has also been totally redesigned. The shaft features a low profile barb that perfectly fits in its seat to adhere completely to the shaft body. This solution allows the shaft to be more hydrodynamic, increasing shooting accuracy. The penetrating power of the shaft is also increased. The barb is 7.4cm long and it is designed to open, after the fish has been hit.

THE POSITION OF THE BARB
On all other shafts, no matter what is the length of the shaft, the barb is always positioned at the same distance from the tip. This causes the barb to be too far from the tip on the shorter models and too close on the longer models. For the 6.3 dia. shaft model, we have decided to divide the lengths of the shafts in three major groups: short, medium and long. For each group, we have a different position of the barb, which has been optimized according to the necessities.

POSITION OF THE NOTCHES
The position of the notches on all the shafts available on the market today is standardized. On this shaft model, we have decided to bring back 3 cm the top notch, making it easier to go from one notch to the other one. This has also made charging on the top notch more powerful and it has also reinforced the shaft in its weakest area.

THE TAIL
The shape of the tail has also been redesigned in the hole where the line is inserted. The 90 degree angle has been rounded to avoid cutting of the line and to ease its insertion.
