Brandon took his obsession with the ocean to the next level when he began spearfishing 2001, and joined the Los Angeles Fathomiers in 2002. There he met divers that taught him a lot, and got him into spearfishing competition. Through competing Brandon greatly sharpened his skills, and became GLACD champion in 2003 and 2004, and well as Pacific Coast Team Champion in 2003 and 2004, with his teammates and mentor Rene Rojas and Mike Pender. Brandon also competed in the 2006 Spearfishing National Championships in Pompano Beach, Florida as captain of his team. His team took 1st place, beating the 2nd place team by 35 points. They achieved this by hard, deep diving over 100ft, and using teamwork to their advantage.

Aside from spearfishing competition, Brandon’s true passion is Bluewater Hunting. He has traveled all over the world and landed various prize fish. Some of his most prized catches are a 240lb Yellowfin Tuna, an 83lb Wahoo, an 87lb Pacific Cubera, 100+ lb groupers, and an 80lb Giant Trevally. At home is California Brandon loves spearing White Seabass in the kelp, and considers them one of his favorite fish to hunt. He has speared countless Whites over 50 lbs and his biggest is 67 lbs.

When Brandon competes, he believes in Omer guns and gear because of their accuracy and durability. He wouldn’t be caught in the water with anything else!!
