MANNY PUIG SIGNATURE POLE SPEAR

Through the collaboration of Omer USA and “Shark Man” Manny Puig we introduce the finest polespear on the market.  Manny Puig who by nature is a primitive hunter was instrumental in putting forth his ideas and qualities through his lifetime experience using polespears into this modern design.

The modular three piece pole-spear is constructed from thick walled 6061T6 anodized aluminum. After studying the various pole spears currently available and consulting extensively with Manny we came to understand a few fundamental qualities for producing an intelligent design. Pole-spears do not share the principal advantages of spearguns for under water hunting such as “range” and “speed” because our arms can only hold so much band pressure and our muscles tire quickly. Where a polespear can make up for its shortcomings in these two areas it can make up by providing a blow with more mass and momentum at close quarters than a traditional spear flung from a speargun. A streamlined and stiff design is crucial in the rendition of a more striking and accurate blow at prey in close range where the higher mass, or “backbone” as we call it, delivers a striking blow at even large fish. In developing the Manny Puig Polespear we kept all these principles in mind and aimed this polespear to be versatile enough for small and medium fish and with the necessary characteristics to take down big fish.

The three piece modular design is made up of two equal length 3ft sections and a 2 ½ft spear with an integrated Hawaiian style barb for an 8.5ft overall full length. The workmanship is unparalleled by any polespear we’ve seen apparent through the tapered cone tip shape, the quality of the aluminum and stainless steel used, and the positive grips machined in different crucial sections of the polespear. The ½” rubber sling is tied using Manny’s trademark “double knot” which provides two different power stretch positions and the possibility to connect a float line to the knot in the rubber itself instead of to the back of the polespear thereby not compromising the flight of the polespear. Performance of the polespear is remarkable taking these factors into account. Optional accessories for Manny Puig’s Signature Polespear include a carrying pouch and an extra Knuckle to turn the polespear into a 5.5’ complete spear.
