Bill has been freediving since 1962 and competiting
since 1964 when he won the individual and team Junior
National Championships.
In 1970 he was the Individual National Champion
and has been on the winning National Championship
Team in 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 9177,
1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1985, 1989, 1991, 1997 and
1998.
Bill has represented the United States 10 times
in World Championships and has placed 4th, 6th, 10th,
11th, and 12th individually with the USA Team being
second twice and third once.
Bill holds the world record for a World Tournament
shooting 251 fish in Peru in 1975 and shooting the
two largest fish in Brazil in 1981.
He is the current National Skindiving Director for
the Underwater Society of America and has held this
post since 1998. |
